Hapag-Lloyd has partnered with MatchBox Exchange for customers in Vietnam.
In a social media post, MatchBox Exchange, a digital logistics platform to work smarter in container operations, said the collaboration between the company and the German shipping line “will now provide transport companies, freight forwarders and shippers in Vietnam the opportunity to reuse and exchange empty containers” inland.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Hapag Lloyd for their on-going support of our collaboration which now sees us working together across many markets in APAC,” MatchBox Exchange wrote.
“This will result in cost-saving benefits and enhanced productivity for transport operators by removing the need to transit through Empty Container Parks.”
The news is the latest progression of Hapag-Lloyd’s digitalisation drives in September 2021: earlier in the month, Inmarsat expanded its agreement to deliver maritime broadband to Hapag-Lloyd for 33 extra vessels; and Hapag-Lloyd announced it would offer its worldwide customers the use of electronic Bills of Lading.
