A YouTube clip released by MultiVu shows a corporate video of Maersk Container Industry’s strategy to ensure that even the most sensitive goods are transported around a world in a way that keeps them protected and in perfect condition.
MCI is an independent unit in the Maersk Group, and in order to protect perishable goods, engineers at MCI are developing the first refrigerated containers and ‘Star Cool’ refrigeration machines in South America at a new MCI facility in San Antonio, Chile.

This refrigerated container system aims to reduce energy consumption by 20%. To test the efficiency of the system, MCI used plastic balls that would perish in the same way as fruits when transported in hot and cold conditions to ensure that goods do not respire after several weeks.
