New China TV have released a video featuring COSCO’s newly built megaships that are larger than an aircraft carrier.
The video shows the newly built vessels from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding — the Virgo delivered to COSCO in May, 2018 and the Taurus, delivered in June, 2017.
The vessels are approximately 400 metres long, more than four football fields, 58.6 metres wide and have an estimated capacity of 20,119 TEUs.

Each ship is equipped with 1,000 reefer plugs for refrigerated cargo, and boast a highly advanced navigation system.
The new arrivals are part of a large scale order for ultra large container vessels, as COSCO raised more than $2 billion in a share sale to pay for 20 new container ships.
COSCO also took delivery of a similarly specced 20,119 TEU vessel in April, 2018 — the COSCO Gemini.
