DSP integrates TIC4.0 standards in flagship product

DSP has adopted the Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 (TIC4.0) language for its DATAVIEW flagship product.

The product can now propose Key Performance Indicators (KPI) model for container terminals, ports and logistics terminals. The KPI model will be compatible with various terminal operating systems (TOS) and other connected systems.

The lack of standardisation in communication protocols and key performance indicators between equipment components, equipment control, and terminal operating systems has been a common issue in the cargo handling industry.

In this context, Marco Fehmer, CEO of DSP, stated that: “By using the TIC4.0 standard definitions of entities, each index shown on the live dashboard of DATAVIEW will be transparent in its calculation and easily understood by the port community.”

DSP joined TIC4.0 two years ago to support the need for defining and adopting standards that enable the cargo handling industry to embrace the fourth industrial revolution and seamless data exchange.

The company’s flagship product, DATAVIEW, provides real-time dashboards and business intelligence reporting for container operations.

“We added to the live KPIs of DATAVIEW a clear description of the data source and their relations based on TIC4.0 standards,” said Gabriella Meduri, DSP Senior Project Manager and TIC4.0 Task Force Leader.
