One STS and two RTGs ordered for DP World’s Philippine port
DP World Manila has ordered both a ship-to-shore (STS) container crane and two rubber-tyred gantry cranes from Liebherr Container Cranes.
The STS crane, forming part of the billion dollar expansion of Manila’s South Harbour over the next three years, features a waterside outreach of 44.5 metres and is identical in size to a pair of cranes commissioned at the Asian Terminals Incorporated (ATI)-operated port in 2011.
The RTGs feature Liebherr’s variable speed drive, a lift height of 21 metres, and two wheels per corner with a safe working load of 41 tonnes.
In addition to the Manila cranes, Liebherr has also recently commissioned an STS crane for Dubai-based DP World in Melbourne.
