CMA CGM introduces Asia - Indian Subcontinent service

CMA CGM has announced that it will be launching a new Asia Subcontinent Express 2 (AS2) service that connects Asia with the Indian Subcontinent.

The new service is set to launch on 3 December 2023.

This new service comes one month after CMA CGM announced the reshuffling its services linking East Mediterranean, Malta and Libya.

CMA CGM noted that the AS2 dedicates weekly service linking Central / South China to Colombo, Nhava Sheva & Mundra

According to CMA CGM, the port rotation is the following:

Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Singapore – Colombo – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Singapore – Shanghai

Furthermore, the AS2 service provides an intra-subcontinent link from Colombo to India, as well as access to CMA CGM’s wide network from Southeast Asia via Singapore to India Subcontinent ports.

This month, CMA CGM released its Q3 financial results as revenue and operating profit drops significantly year-on-year (YoY).

Additionally, CMA CGM announced the revamping of its Asia West Africa & South Africa Services effective first week of December.
