Korea’s Busan New Container Terminal (BNCT) has announced that it has added its 12th Korean Marine Transportation Company (KMTC) service.

This recently launched service connects Busan, South Korea with Sendai, Japan.

In a statement, BNCT said that it is happy to continue supporting Busan’s feeder network in the future with 700,000 TEU of additional capacity coming in March 2015 as part of its Phase II expansion. This added capacity will increase BNCT annual capacity from it current 1.8 million TEU to 2.5 million TEU.

As the most advanced terminal in Korea and the first vertically-automated in Asia, BNCT can berth four of the world’s largest container vessels simultaneously at its 1,400-metre quay and draft of up to 17 metres.
