The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) has officially launched its Maritime Single Window (MSW).
The initiative, developed and implemented by Kale Logistics Solutions in partnership with Primatel Communication Sdn Bhd, aims to streamline and expedite port clearance processes for all maritime stakeholders.
The launch ceremony was presided over by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications and Chairman of MPABD. In his address, Yang Mulia Captain (Ret.) Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive of MPABD, described the MSW as a significant advancement for the country.
“We are taking a major step forward in transforming the way ship clearance processes are conducted in Brunei Darussalam,” Rahman said.
“The implementation of the Maritime Single Window, as mandated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) under the FAL Convention, allows for the electronic submission, processing, and approval of port clearance information – all through a single online platform.”
The MSW enables the digital submission and processing of port clearance documentation, supporting faster decision-making and smoother port operations.
This launch follows a successful first phase and sets the stage for Phase 2 of MPABD’s Digital Transformation initiative, which will focus on centralising and digitalising all MPABD services, including vessel registration, licensing, maritime training, financial systems, and online payments.

The platform serves as a central digital hub for shipping lines, port authorities, customs, and logistics stakeholders, supporting Brunei’s broader national transformation agenda.
