New SC at APM Terminals Aarhus

APM Terminals Aarhus, Denmark (APMT Aarhus) has taken delivery of six new straddle carriers to boost handling capacity at its container terminal.

The new addition brings the total numbers of straddle carriers at the terminal to 36.

“We have seen continuous volume growth over the past years at our terminal and we want to continue to be ready to meet future customer demands,” shared Helle Almind, Commercial Manager at APMT Aarhus.

“Our investment programme goes beyond just equipment upgrade, as we have also invested in our operating model, people development and improving our IT-backbone.”

Most recent investments at Denmark’s largest terminal include the installation of 180 reefer plugs last January to increase capacity for reefer cargo and meet soaring demand.

APMT Aarhus reported a 12 per cent volume growth in 2020 compared to 2019 and further 20 per cent growth in 2021.
