APM Terminals Poti achieves record container numbers

APM Terminals (APMT) Poti has handled 53,626 TEU over the quay during the month of April.

This reflects an increase of 91.3 per cent compared with April 2022, and the highest volume of containers ever handled in a single month in the Port of Poti.

In the first four months of 2023, APMT Poti handled a total of 177,900 TEU, 73 per cent higher than the same period last year, and the highest ever handled in the first four months of a year.

During the last four years, the largest number of vehicles in a single quarter were handled in the Port of Poti.

At 25,239 vehicles for the first four months, this was the largest number the Port of Poti has handled in a single quarter, reflecting an increase of 59.7 per cent compared to the same period last year.

During the first four months, 103 container ships were handled, representing an increase of more than 74.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The port also handled 3,848 TEU by rail in the first four months of the year which was the highest of any comparable period over the last three years.

This announcement comes almost six months after APMT Poti welcomed the new Poti Turkiye Feeder (PTF) service from shipping line ZIM.

Most recently, in March, APMT Poti made a significant investment to modernise Georgia’s largest Port’s infrastructure.
