The management of Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL) has dismissed rumours that AKPL is stopping container operations to relocate at Katupalli Port.
Contrary to media reports, Adani stated that it is maintaining container operations in Krishnapatnam Port and plans to strengthen it in the next years.
Berths, yards and equipment at the terminal remain as they are. Adani noted that the terminal can handle any container vessel that calls upon Krishnapatnam Port.
In September 2023, Adani Gangavaram Port announced the arrival of two modern locomotives WDG3A as part of the port’s continued efforts to increase capacity and productivity.
One month later, the port announced the enhancement of infrastructure facilities at the premises by inducting new cargo handling equipment.
