A video released by the Panama Canal provides a second update on the progress of the Panama Canal’s expansion project.
More than 400ha of concrete have so far been poured over both construction sites with around 4200ha of dirt and rock excavated to designated disposal areas.

The aim of the new set of locks is to create a new lane of traffic for cargo ships and to double the waterway’s current capacity.
The Panama Canal expansion is 84% complete, and is anticipated to be open by early 2016.
