The Port of Salerno has unveiled plans to build a new container and RoRo facility some ten km south of Salerno, estimated for completion between 2016 and 2021. The development will comprise of a berth 2 km long and 500 m wide, with a depth of 17-22 m. GF Logistic China Ltd

Opening on December 11, 2007, GF Logistic China Head Office is located in Shanghai. The business scope of GF Logistic is to undertake international freight forwarding agent business in connection with ocean shipping, air transportation and land transportation of import and export goods, international exhibition goods, personal goods and transit goods, including receipt and dispatch of cargoes, booking cargo space, storage, transit shipment, container s assembling, settlement of
transportation fees, contacting customs for inspection of freight and making customs declarations, insurance and relevant shortdistance transportation and transportation consulting services.

In 2008 GF Logistic China will open sub-offices in China starting with Tianjin and Guangzhou. Gallozzi Forwarding China is a NVOCC license A company. It will have exclusive rights to issue its own Bills of Landing, make bookings and arrange sea transportation with ocean carriers in China. Services

Several note worthy new services this year include:

1) In May 2007 Emirates Line began to load and discharge containers from India and Middle East at Saler no via transshipment via Barcelona, the same boxes were then loaded after discharge for American destinations, again via Barcelona using Xpress feeder services.

2) On the of 15th November, Turkon Line (Kasif Kalkavan Group,Turkey) began including Salerno in their existing schedule from Turkey to United States calling at New York, Norfolk and Savannah. Using 1,200 teu vessels, the fastest transit time from Salerno to New York is now only 10 days.

Latest Esoware developments

Esoware, the IT-branch of the Gallozi Group, has signed contracts with Terminal San Giorgio in Genoa, Sintermar livorno, Est in Palermo and Tin in Nola to install software to handle yard, vessel operations, EDI, electronic invoicing, gate control, reefer monitoring and other software related to handling container/break-bulk/train terminals.

Esoware’s product range includes modules such as container control, graphic yard planning, graphic rail planning, graphic ship planning, invoicing, EDI, terminal  access control, automatic gate control, and reefer monitoring.

In 2008 Esoware will expand the introduction of software already operating in Savona Vado, Catania, Civittavecchia (Port of Rome) and parts of the programme in other terminals. Also in 2008, automatic gate control will be available and installed as soon as possible in one of the terminals. This will mean that many services will be automated.
