The Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) in Egypt has opened a major expansion at East Port Said.
The $500 million upgrade adds 955 metres of quay and 510,000 square metre (m²) of yard space, equipped with 12 quay cranes, 30 electric RTGs, and over 90 trucks.
The expansion increases annual handling capacity by 2.2 million TEUs, bringing SCCT’s total to 7 million TEUs.
