Qatar’s Ministry of Transport (MOT) has lifted restrictions on maritime navigation within nearly seven nautical miles of the coast, restoring normal vessel access to a stretch that includes Hamad Port.
In its circular, the Ministry confirmed the measure takes effect immediately, covering the stretch from Lusail City, including its ports, anchorages and marine facilities, eastward to Hamad Port, and from the Umm Heesh area westward to Doha Salwa.
Vessels operating under the provisions of international maritime conventions, and in line with existing regulations and procedures, are exempted from the restriction.

The MOT urged all vessels to carefully follow the regulations and instructions in place and to ensure all safety and security equipment is on board before and during sailing, to safeguard the safety and security of all trips.
For terminal operators and port authorities in the region, the reopening restores normal navigational access to a stretch of coastline that includes Hamad Port, Qatar’s principal container and cargo gateway, removing a constraint that would otherwise have affected vessel scheduling and berthing operations in the area.
