Dr. Noel Hacegaba, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland this week.
The forum will focus on global economic issues, trade policies, and future priorities.
Hacegaba will be the only US port authority executive among the 850 leaders from government, business, and academia at the forum.
He will engage in discussions with global executives, national leaders, and CEOs from major ports and ocean freight companies, as the Port of Long Beach continues to strengthen its role in international trade.

Hacegaba said: “The Port of Long Beach is one of the top US ports, and it’s important that we are part of these conversations as global trade policies evolve. Our long-term cargo forecast predicts a doubling of container volume by 2050, and achieving that will require innovation and cooperation.”
Frank Colonna, President of the Long Beach Harbor Commission, added that Hacegaba’s presence at the forum is vital to the port’s future: “We need to be in these discussions to strengthen partnerships and stay ahead of industry trends.”
Hacegaba’s appearance follows his 15 January “State of the Port” address, where he outlined a vision for the port’s future, including a goal to become zero-emissions and job-creating. He also noted the port’s record cargo volumes despite ongoing tariff challenges.
