The Port of Bilbao has welcomed the MSC Ruby, the largest containership ever to call at its facilities.
Operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the MSC Ruby is 366 metres long, 48 metres wide and has a capacity of 13,000 TEUs.
The vessel arrived at CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal at 7 am from Sines, and is scheduled to depart on 23 July for Le Havre.
The terminal, which has a 21-metre draft, handled the vessel using its new Super Post-Panamax Ship-to-Shore crane, commissioned in early June 2026.
The equipment increases the terminal’s operational capacity, with the port stating it improves productivity and efficiency for loading and unloading container vessels calling at Bilbao.
