Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced that its Cherry Express Asia Latin America Express 1 (ALX1) service will offer improved transit time from Valparaiso to Hong Kong.
ONE’s Cherry Express Service will connect the ports of Valparaiso and Hong Kong in just 23 days, with the following vessel schedule:

Harvested during the Southern Hemisphere’s summer, Chilean cherries are timed to meet China’s winter demand. However, given their short shelf life, fast and reliable transport is key to ensuring the cherries arrive in optimal condition.
Building on a record-breaking 2024/25 season where Chilean cherry exports reached 626,021 metric tonnes, this season projects further growth of an estimated 5 per cent, reaching approximately 657,000 metric tonnes, with China remaining the primary destination.

To meet this need, ONE has implemented temporary changes in port rotation and faster sailing speeds. Additionally, with Cold Treatment (CT) requirements continuing to be heavy this season, ONE aims to continue providing best-in-class CT service to its customers through its COOLTemp solution.
This can be further enhanced with specialised care for Chilean cherries through ONE’s COOLXTEND CA+, reportedly the most technologically advanced controlled atmosphere system, which prolongs shelf life.
