ZIM unveils China - US West Coast service

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. (ZIM) has launched a new premium service, ZIM Central China Xpress (ZX2), linking Central China to the US West Coast.

ZX2 will start operations on 3 July 2024, reportedly offering the industry’s quickest transit time.

According to ZIM, this service provides:

  • Dedicated berths at the origin and destination ports provide a smooth arrival and departure.
  • All accelerated import containers were unloaded onto ZIM-dedicated chassis for speedy delivery.
  • Efficient rail links enable rapid inland distribution throughout the US.
  • Import procedure is streamlined, with no appointment necessary for expedited freight collection.
  • Dedicated lane for import pickup eliminates waits.

In addition, ZIM’s well-established ZEX premium service will now call Cai Mep, Vietnam, commencing with ZIM Falcon on 16 July 2024.

The new ZEX rotation will be: Cai Mep – Yantian – Los Angeles – Cai Mep 

Hani Kalinski, ZIM EVP Pacific Business Unit, said: “The launch of ZX2 demonstrates ZIM’s continued focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations by offering agile and high-quality premium services that address the evolving demands of the market.”

In May, ZIM released its financial report for the first quarter, disclosing revenues of $1.56 billion.
