Yilport Holding enjoyed a 5% year-on-year TEU growth in 2018, as it closed on its target to tank among the top 10 international container terminal operators by 2025, according to its latest financial results.
In a statement, the operator described 2018 as a “golden year of huge business results”. In total, its portfolio of worldwide terminals handled 6.41 million TEU, with its operations in Turkey and Latin America leading the way.

It benefitted greatly from the strong performance of the Turkish economy, with its Yilport Gebeze terminal recording 554,223 TEU for 2018, an 11% increase on its 2017 volume.

In Latin America, its TEU volume grew by 23% compared to 2017, with its Nordic terminals growing by 2%. Volume in Iberia was relatively flat, although its Leixoes terminal growing by 6%.
In a statement, Yilport Holding said: “Yilport’s consistent growth is also acclaimed by the industry.
“According to Drewry’s Global Container Terminal Operators Annual Review and Forecast 2018 report, Yilport Holding is listed in the 12th place among international container terminal operators.
“The company reached another high after winning Port Operator of the Year Award by Lloyd’s List in December 2018.”
