The Yang Ming Marine Transportation Corporation (Yang Ming) has announced the launch of its new China-Australia-2 (CA2) service.

The service will first set sail on 10 March 2022 and will see six 3,500 – 3,900 TEU vessels deployed on the route.

The port rotation is as follows: Qingdao (China) – Shanghai (China) – Nansha (China) – Shekou (China) – Sydney (Australia) – Melbourne (Australia) – Brisbane (Australia) – Qingdao

The CA2 service is also a joint operation with T.S Lines Ltd., Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd., and Sea Lead Shipping.

Back in July 2021, the shipping line also announced it was adding a new 11,000 TEI container vessel, the ‘YM Travel’, as part of its efforts to upgrade its Trans-Pacific service.

In a statement the carrier said the vessel will “further strengthen its “mid- to long-term operational efficiency”, and it is part of a 14-strong fleet of 11,000 TEU newbuild ships; the’ YM Travel’ is the sixth in the series.
