In a world exclusive video interview, PTI recently spoke with Karl Socikwa, CEO of Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) at TOC Europe 2015 in Rotterdam.
In the video, Mr Socikwa articulates Transnet's role in making sure that the transport of freight logistics is competent in South Africa and ensuring that, as Transnet grows, these benefits slide over into neighbouring countries.
Over recent years, TPT has been working to refine the integration between port and rail as the supply chain is about 'moving goods from pit to port' and operating systems are playing a large part in these functions, since these types of systems are no longer just port specific.
