The video above shows the ship launch of the 'Symphony Provider' at Ferus Smit Shipyard in Leer, Germany, stopping mid-launch as the bow of the vessel gets stuck on the slipway as the stern starts to move away.

The footage highlights that the hydraulic pins holding the bow could be to blame as they are released manually to allow the ship to make it into the water.

It is the second in a series of two ECOBOX DP2 vessels that will be delivered to Symphony Shipping. They are equipped with a DP2 (Dynamic Positioning) system, which keeps the vessel within an exact position or heading limits, even in the most severe wind and wave conditions.

Ferus-Smit did not address the malfunction in a press release about the launch.
