A video released by the Panama Canal shows the progress of the expansion throughout June, 2015, showing the project to be 90% complete and due to be operational by early 2016.
PTI previously reported on the May update, showing that the Panama Canal had just made the transition into electro magnetic installation.
The project continues through this phase with the installation of 152 valves that will control the water flow in the culverts and chambers.
Three dams are also being built on the north end of the Pacific side. One has already been completed and the remaining two are currently on their final phase.
