The Newsfirst Sri Lanka report above shows the first footage of rescue efforts to save the 13,798 TEU MSC Daniela containership and her 21 crew members from a fire onboard the vessel.
The Sri Lanka Navy, which has released images and a report on the incident, had to come to the aid of the vessel on Monday (April 3, 2017) some 33 nautical miles off Colombo harbour, Sri Lanka.
It is still not yet known what caused the fire.
The Indian Navy has posted pictures and a video of the firefighting efforts on its official Twitter account:
