  • Jeffrey Wassmer to succeed William Fralin at Port of Virginia

The Virginia Port Authority Board of commissioners has announced that Jeffrey Wassmer will succeed William Fralin as the organisations new chairman.

Wassmer, awarded the board’s top post following unanimous approval by his fellow commissioners, was appointed to the VPA board by Gov. Robert McDonnell on July 15, 2011. He served as the board's vice chairman from November 27th, 2012, until today's appointment.

“In this last year we have really come through some things and it has been a total team effort – there are a lot of people involved with this port,” said Wassmer.

“We still have a lot of work to do: we're in a great place and have a lot of advantages at the Port of Virginia and we're going to begin to focus and capitalise on those things.”

Wassmer is president and CEO of Spectrum Comm, Inc., and has more than 20 years of experience in network security and program management of Department of Defense command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance programs.
