South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) has been awarded the coveted prize of the top US Port in 2014.
The southern US port was awarded the accolade at the JOC’s Productivity Awards for 2014.
David Hoffman, Terminal Manager at the SCPA, said: “In my mind, I think it’s a three-tier approach. I think you have a planning side, you have a gate side and you have a deep side or vessel side.
“The planning that my supervisor has put in to get the yard laid out the way it needs to get laid out so that we can operate efficiently from the gate and the vessel side really gives us an advantage over most other ports. It’s what has led to this for us.”
