Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT), International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI)’s fully automated container handling facility in Australia, has achieved 5 million TEU since opening.
The recent completion of the terminal extension boosted VICT’s capacity by 30 per cent to 1.25 million TEU, allowing for the smooth handling of bigger vessels and meeting expanding demand.
Furthermore, ICTSI reported that VICT prioritises operational efficiency by consistently investing in cutting-edge technologies.
This includes the procurement of new automated stacking cranes and super post-Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, which have helped to simplify operations, improve cargo handling capacities, and assure shorter turnaround times for vessels and trucks.
