VDL’s current spreader and AGV combination has enabled VDL Containersystemen to record an excellent performance over the year.
Figures for VDL indicate that the company offers a proven reliable container handling product, and thereby a low total cost of ownership.
VDL’s AGV’s have received worldwide attention since the beginning of production in 2012, according to a company statement, with PSA Singapore Terminals having recently ordered two AGVs.
For ease of maintenance and future upgrading, these two AGVs will be based on hybrid diesel-electric technology employing ultra-capacitors with optimised power train design for lower fuel consumptions.
The focus will be to integrate these new AGVs with PSA’s AGV navigation system.
VDL Containersystemen and VDL Steelweld will act as the main contractor of the project.
The AGVs will be delivered to Singapore in 2015.
