Reliable products for offshore survey operations are an absolute necessity. From CTD’s in the early eighties to the well established Midas SVX2, Valeport continue to deliver and meet customer requirements worldwide.

Valeport is an established UK based manufacturer of Oceanographic and Hydrographic instrumentation which include the world’s most accurate sound velocity probes / sensors, altimeter range, radar level sensor, current metres, tide gauges, intelligent depth sensors, wave recorders, CTD’s, multi-parameter CTD’s and GPS echo sounders.

Valeport products have been used in both military and civilian operations with applications covering inshore shallow diving and deep sea ocean work.

The company is proud to release the new VRS-20 Radar Level Sensor. The pulsed k-band radar level sensor has been developed to work alongside the Valeport Tidemaster seamlessly, but also has a standalone option.

The VRS-20 features intergrated GPRS telemetry to the internet, or can interface directly to a third party datalogger or PC.

Non-contact technology removes the installation, corrosion and fouling issues associated with submerged sensors, and as such accuracy and performance are unaffected by changes in water density and atmospheric conditions.

A shore based or fixed structure deployment such as the TideMaster can now use the radar sensor for non-contact measurement and met sensors to provide quality real-time data.

With the Oceanology International taking place this month, Valeport will showcase its plans of entering the optical sensor market with the development of a chlorophyll fluorometer. This will be followed by a turbidity sensor, a revised conductivity cell, and the addition of a fast response thermistor, coupled with a high accuracy pressure sensor providing high quality data in the fastest time possible.

Alongside this, Valeport are proud to announce the UV-SVP – a small and compact direct reading package that utilises existing and proven sensor technology.

As a sensor manufacturer, Valeport likes to challenge itself in all areas of development. Whilst being recognised as offering the best in sound velocity measurement, Valeport acknowledges the needs of OEM users for their own integration with the latest addition to the fold. The ultraSV takes a step forward offering reduced size, low power and data rates up to 300Hz.

Valeport sales and marketing manager, Kevin Edwards puts the companies success down to customer satisfaction: “Valeport have been serving the industry since 1969 by meeting and exceeding our customer expectations and this is what drives us.”

“Our 12 month perpetual service warranty is typical of this and proving to be a winner. Valeport’s strength is in customer service and the policy of continuous product development. Our aim is to continue this high level of innovation and support.”

If you are planning on attending the Oceanology international exhibition, feel free to meet Kevin and the rest of the Valeport team at stand J301.
