Rickmers-Linie, the heavy lift and project cargo liner service specialist, has promoted Ulrich Ulrichs as its new chief operating officer.
Ulrichs took over the reigns of the German liner from Rüdiger Gerhardt, who at the same time has been appointed the company’s new chief administrative officer, at the start of the month. In his new position Ulrichs will continue to work closely with Rüdiger Gerhardt.
Ulrichs has more than fifteen years of experience in the shipping and break bulk business. He joined Rickmers-Linie in 2005 as general manager line management and became a director in 2008. On July 1st 2011, Ulrichs was appointed deputy managing director of Rickmers-Linie and became chief operating officer and managing director in July 2012.
Rüdiger Gerhardt has been with Rickmers-Linie since 1978 and since 1992 has been responsible for finance, personnel and administration for the company. On July 1st 2011 he was appointed managing director and global head of Rickmers-Linie.
As chief administrative officer he will continue to develop the structure and organisation of the company.
