Uber Freight, a service which offers transparent pricing, fast payments and a booking function for carriers and truck drivers, has announced that it is expanding its operations to Europe.
Since its initial launch in the US two years ago, Uber Freight claims it has worked to “revitalize the trucking industry” and improve the efficiency of freight logistics, an integral part of the global economy.
By increasing the speed at which the transport of freight can be organized and managed, Uber Freight’s digital platform has been adopted by a “robust network” of carriers and drivers that is still growing.

According to a statement, the company’s European services will begin in the Netherlands during the next few weeks, allowing local carriers and drivers to book their first cargo loads with Uber Freight.
Following the launch, Uber Freight has also asserted that it plans to expand across other parts of Europe in the near future.
Europe’s freight market is one of the largest and most sophisticated in Europe but presents many of the same challenges which the US freight sector faces.
It's official — we're expanding into Europe. First stop: the Netherlands #haultogether https://t.co/9ELESaMAGx

With small and medium-sized carriers forming 85% of the total carrier pool operating around he continent, the European market could be described as highly fragmented and difficult for small businesses to thrive in without the support of new technologies.
A further statement from Uber Freight, addressing this issue, read: “The expansion of Uber Freight into Europe is an important first step toward bringing our vision for an efficient and transparent freight marketplace to the international stage.
“As we grow, we will endeavour to be a reliable partner to European carriers, shippers and everyone who's working to build a bright future for Europe's logistics industry.”
