Typhoon Chaba Shuts Ports and Shipyards

Typhoon Chaba has caused destruction in South Korea, flooding its major ports and closing shipbuilding yards, and is heading for Japan according to reports.

The local authorities have officially stated that there have been three fatalities and at least three more people are missing, although other reports claim up to five people have been killed.

The typhoon has caused major flooding, power cuts and infrastructural damage across the southern part of the country.

The Port of Busan has been closed again today following damages caused by the extreme weather, and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering has stopped production.

The typhoon is expected to downgrade to a tropical storm before it reaches Japan, but provisions are still being made to prepare people in the path of Chaba.
