Two Ships Collide near Panama Canal

The VFM Alita general cargo ship recently sunk off of the Caribbean in Colon, Panama, after it collided with another vessel and caused damage to its hull, according to World Maritime News.

In Fox News Latino, the Panama Canal Authority said: “The sinking of this vessel is not affecting the operations or traffic in the aquatic waterway.

“The vessel is lying on the sea bottom, resting on its port (left) side. For the security of this vessel and of the traffic around it, the area has been marked by two spherical yellow buoys, with their respective night signals.”

It has been reported that there were no injuries to crew members.
