Mersin International Port (MIP) has installed a new reefer monitoring system to continue meeting Turkey’s import and export volumes.

MIP’s 990 reefer points will now automatically monitored and controled by GRASP RRCE-T technology from hardware and software developer Refrigerated Transport Electronics (RTE).

Donald Vinson, RTE’s President, said: “RTE is very excited to have been chosen to provide our solution to one of Turkey’s major ports.

“RTE’s GRASP Reefer Monitoring system allows MIP to electronically monitor and control their reefer assets reducing claims and improve efficiency.”

The GRASP product range consists of several wired and wireless hardware solutions that can be combined to run concurrently with RTE’s GRASP 3.0 software platform

Frans Jol, Managing Director of MIP, said: “MIP chose the RTE GRASP system due to the system functionality, ease of use, ability to interface with our TOS, and reliability.

“We are now automatically monitoring over 95% of the reefers in our terminal.  We feel that this system assists MIP with our mission of providing first class service to our customers”
