  • TT Club ‘proud’ to be associated with UK’s newest deepwater port

  • DP World London Gateway opened for business earlier this month

TT Club has announced that it will provide the liability cover for the UK’s newest container terminal DP World London Gateway.

In a statement, the global freight transport and cargo handling insurer said that given its forty-five year history of providing liability and asset insurance for ports and terminals around the world it is well-placed to underwrite the risk presented by a ground-breaking new facility such as London Gateway.

“TT Club is proud to be associated with yet another milestone in the ever-expanding container handling sector,” said TT Club’s CEO, Charles Fenton.

“We have worked with DP World throughout its network of global terminals and are grateful to them for the opportunity to continue our partnership.”

“London Gateway promises to be a very significant addition to the UK’s transport infrastructure located as it is, at the heart of the country’s largest consumer market.”

London Gateway welcomed its first vessel earlier this month with the call of the MOL Caledon after more than a decade of planning and construction. The port is now operating with its first berth open. When fully developed, London Gateway will operate six berths handling 3.5 million TEU a year.
