Trelleborg has been relocated its premises for marine systems operations to a new 1,000 square meter facility in Ahmedabad, India, which is almost double the size of its previous engineering and design centre of excellence.
The new facility will strengthen Trelleborg's reputation of providing detailed engineering design, modelling and analysis, including finite element analysis, which will be aided by a growing team of structural, mechanical and electrical engineers (pictured).
Amit Madan, Regional Director (IMEA) at Trelleborg Marine Systems (TMS), said: “While many companies outsource their engineering and manufacturing requirements, Trelleborg continues to invest in its market-leading in-house capability.
“Our previous premises provided fantastic support and extremely quick design turnaround for our marine systems operation. However, the new Indian centre of excellence promises to further strengthen our end-to-end service from design through manufacturing and testing, to installation and maintenance.”
The marine operation of Trelleborg Infrastructure and Construction designs, manufactures and installs bespoke fender systems, docking and mooring equipment, oil and gas transfer technology and vessel efficiency technology for marine environments all over the world. Its polymer engineering includes a range of general marine products, including navigation aids and buoys.
