Garry Jason Pita has been announced as the new CFO for Transnet Port Terminals, which came into effect on February 1, 2016.
The decision was made by its board of directors in consultation with the Transnet executive authority and the minister of public enterprises.
Mr Pita will join the board of directors and is expected to report to the acting group CEO.

With over 10 years of service at Transnet, he has led key strategic aspects of Transnet’s financial function.
He is projected to lead all aspects of the company’s financial strategy, including overseeing the company’s funding and capital investment programmes, managing procurement, as well as adhere to the highest standards of governance and internal controls.

In a company press release, Siyabonga Gama, the interim CEO at Transnet, said: “His appointment validates the robustness of our talent management and succession processes.
“Critically, it confirms the brimming talent within our ranks at Transnet. We are confident that Garry will excel in carrying the new responsibilities that we have entrusted in him.”
