TOC Europe will now take place 8 – 10 June 2021 in is usual Rotterdam location, skipping the 2020 event altogether.

News of the reschedule comes after it was announced that the 2020 event would be postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak which has halted much travel, lead to the cancellation of many events and resulted in many European nations restricting the movement of its citizens.

In a statement, Informa Markets, the host company of TOC Europe, said that it has been unable to find a suitable alternative for TOC 2020 and it is “with regret” the event will not run this year.

However, TOC Middle East is still scheduled to take place 7 – 9 December in Dubai, as part of UAE maritime Week. It will co-locate with Expo 2020.

The company said that in the absence of TOC Europe and TOC Asia, which was due to take place in Singapore, the Middle East variant of the event will now have a “vastly expanded” remit.

The statement continues: “The impact of COVID-19 continues to affect us all, and so the end of the year is the ideal time for a global gathering to take stock of the year and discuss the technology and solutions needed to return to prosperity.”
