A video released by the Port of Rotterdam shows a time-lapse of the widening of the Amazonehaven berth at the port.
It was recently announced that the Port of Rotterdam will be working with NextLogic and Quintiq to implement the BREIN concept in order to optimise inland container shipping at the port.
The widening project involved demolishing 900 metres of quay wall in order to widen the Amazonehaven by around 53 metres.
The Port of Rotterdam is currently Europe's largest port, owning around 30% of Europe’s market share.
