Tideworks Technology Inc. (Tideworks) has announced that Santa Marta International Terminal Company (SMITCO) has gone live with its next-generation maritime Terminal Operating System (TOS) solution, Mainsail 10.
SMITCO is a joint venture between Sociedad Portuaria de Santa and SSA Marine, which recently upgraded from Tideworks’ legacy Mainsail solution to the advanced Mainsail 10.
This next-generation TOS solution reportedly provides terminal operators with greater freedom via a highly flexible user experience, third-party integration possibilities, and enhanced visibility to assist decision-making through timely reporting, according to Tideworks.
The legacy TOS was deployed in 2009, and this milestone marks nearly 15 years of partnership between Tideworks and SMITCO.
This go-live is also Tideworks’ 15th successful integration of Mainsail 10.

Juanita del Castillo, General Manager of SMITCO, said: “SMITCO moves the third largest cargo volume in Colombia, making it essential for us to have technology that streamlines operations and helps us evolve to meet the needs of the global supply chain.
“We value our collaboration with Tideworks. With Mainsail 10, we can increase cargo flow, reduce costs, and manage operations in a more effective and productive way.”
SMITCO’s use of Mainsail 10 could reportedly help the terminal manage fluctuating cargo volumes from various supply chain stakeholders.
