A video released by the Port of Montreal shows its expansion plans for its Viau Container Terminal project in order to boost TEU capacity at the terminal.

The project is to be split into two phases: the first phase intends to add around 350,000 TEU of additional capacity, with the second phases adding a further 250,000.

The new terminal will have a highway overpass for smoother truck traffic and less congestion as a way of strengthening the local network.

The project is being overseen by MSC and the Montreal Port Authority.

The first phase is due to be completed by the end of 2016.
