A video released by CNBC simplifies the effect of the Hanjin Shipping bankruptcy on the industry, and touches upon the less reported victims of it – the people on board.

The video shows a young artist who was due to spend a few weeks on-board a Hanjin vessel, Hanjin Geneva, for a project; instead, she was stuck on board the stranded vessel from August 31, 2016 when the company filed for receivership until September 18, when they were allowed to unload in Tokyo.

Despite some ships being allowed to berth at ports now, there are still many stranded at sea, with crew members unable to see their family and living off dwindling water and food supplies.
