Telestack acknowledged at prestigious bulk industry awards
Telestack has won a coveted IBJ 2013 award winning the ‘Innovative Technology’ category.
This is the second time that Telestack has been acknowledged at the inaugural event, which salutes achievements in the bulk industry throughout the world, having won the Best Ship Loading/Unloading System category in 2010 for our innovative mobile grain loading system.
In a statement, Telestack said that it had won the award in the face of very strong competition from leading industry players and noted its strong commitment to working closely with its customers to ensure that it both designs and supplies a solution that is “customised to suit their specific needs”.
The statement continued; “Drawing on our extensive knowledge and experience gained from numerous installations across the globe and especially those handling heavy ores, we designed a very unique solution using proven existing technology to ensure that our customer, Arcelor Mittal, received an innovative mobile shiploading system that we believe offers the shortest hatch change times in the industry. This powerful performance helps maximise the efficiency of the shiploading process for our customer.”
The Telestack system offers a loading process to comply with ISO:3082 2009 Iron Ore Sampling Standards. The system consists of a track mobile hopper feeder with Auto sampling unit feeding into an all travel shiploader. The hopper feeder can receive up to 2000 tph of iron ore from CAT 988 wheel loaders and then we transfer this material directly to the shiploader; which is capable of loading vessels with a freeboard height of up to 16 metres and a beam of 43 metres.
In the first 12 months our customer loaded approximately 3.5 Million tons with the Telestack system.
