TecPlata, a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI), has received certification from the Argentine Naval Prefecture to manage docking operations for Neo-Panamax vessels.
The certification establishes TecPlata as the first terminal in Buenos Aires and the country capable of handling these huge ships, increasing the competitiveness of regional foreign trade.
Juan Pablo Trujillo, TecPlata Chief Executive Officer, said: “The certification of these docking manoeuvers highlights TecPlata’s infrastructure and technical capabilities, being the only dock in Buenos Aires designed to accommodate upcoming improvements in the depth of the Navigable Waterway, as well as projections for the growth of Argentine foreign trade in the coming years.”

Shipping companies will reportedly be able to service Argentine international commerce with massive 366-metre-long and 51-metre-wide vessels, bringing Argentina’s products straight to the world’s major markets.
With this accomplishment, TecPlata has reestablished Argentina’s prominence in international trade.
In October, TecPlata handled Argentina’s first carbon-neutral container.
