Four RTGs delivered to Spanish terminal
TCV Stevedoring Company, part of Grup TCB, has taken delivery of the components for its four new Konecranes RTG cranes in the Port of Valencia.
The RTGs, scheduled to be erected on the Muelle de Levante dock in the coming months, are part of an ambitious investment programme at the Spanish terminal aimed at increasing productivity and efficiency.
The components of the four RTG cranes arrived in Valencia last week on board the Medazov Julia, with the project’s 116 pieces, weighing a total weight of 368 tonnes, unloaded within 24 hours.
The whole process of assembly and ‘plug & play’ will be carried out in an area that has been specially equipped for TCV at the northern end of the terminal to minimise its impact on daily operations.
TCV Stevedoring expects the four cranes to be operational within two months.
