  • Five Kalmar Classic straddle carriers scheduled for Q1 2014 delivery

The Port of Tacoma is set for an upgrade of its container handling portfolio with five Kalmar Classic straddle carriers on order.

The straddle carriers, ordered in August this year, are scheduled for deliver during the first quarter of 2014.

Upon delivery, the five Kalmar units will increase the fleet of straddle carriers, all being Kalmar models, at the US port to 32.

Kalmar has been supplying straddle carriers to the Port of Tacoma, one of the largest container ports in North America, since 1986, leading to Kalmar and the port developing the world's first on-dock rail operation using only straddle carriers.
