500 to 600km square of land has been marked for additional projects relating to the Suez Canal Development Project after consultants that are working on the Suez project outlined a vision.

Consultant for Dar Al-Handasah, a company working on the Suez expansion, Yehia Zaki, said: “This is a huge area for projects and investments.

“We have a very aggressive team and we have utilised our London office to work on the project with us.”

According to Daily News Egypt, the government are still in talks with Dar Al-Handasah to finalise the exact space specified for projects.

The master plan will be presented during the Egyptian Economic Summit in March, 2015, which is to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, once the plan has been finalised at the end of February, 2015.

Zaki clarified that “the master plan tackles the area around the canal”, including Ismailia, Suez and Port Said.

Currently, the Suez Canal Project is around 66% complete.
