Stena Line, a ferry and port operator, has officially launched its new Dublin-Liverpool (Birkenhead) freight service.
The new route is projected to increase the company’s freight volumes after a record year in 2023.
According to Peel Ports, the inaugural sailing on the new service departed Dublin Port’s Terminal 5 on the morning of 15 February.
The return service will depart from Dublin in the morning and return in the evening from Birkenhead’s 12 Quays terminal.

The new service will be Stena Line’s seventh route in the Irish Sea area, joining: Belfast-Cairnryan, Belfast-Heysham, Belfast-Liverpool, Dublin-Holyhead, Rosslare-Fishguard, and Rosslare-Cherbourg.
Stena Horizon is temporarily operating on the Dublin-Liverpool route. The company is reportedly evaluating alternatives for a permanent freight-only vessel.
The new service will reportedly provide freight clients on both sides of the Irish Sea more options for ensuring an efficient and stable link between Ireland and Britain.
