Marlink has signed a new agreement to provide Solstad with next-generation connectivity solutions through to the end of 2028.
Solstad will deploy Marlink’s SealinkNextGen network, which combines Starlink LEO as the primary connectivity channel, supported by GEO-VSAT and MSS backup for global redundancy.
The solution offers several benefits:
- High-throughput, low-latency LEO enables advanced applications such as video and cloud computing
- Enhanced crew welfare, with access to social media and streaming platforms
- Reliable VSAT ensures full application redundancy worldwide

The agreement also allows flexible bandwidth management, enabling Solstad to allocate connectivity resources across its fleet based on operational needs.
Using Starlink as the primary channel increases efficiency while supporting cost-effective upgrades.
Solstad operates globally, with a focus on Brazil, the North Sea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Africa.
Through its Solstad Green Operations programme, the company continues to lead in sustainable offshore shipping, reducing its carbon footprint and boosting operational efficiency.
